About the Author: Howard Beckman was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA., where he attended Temple University studying Philosophy and Religion. He later spent many years in India, Tibet and Thailand where he developed the knowledge of precious gems and their powers to heal. On returning to the USA he further increased his knowledge by gaining a degree as a Graduate Gemologist. Howard (Hamsavatar), is the author of An Introduction to Vedic Astrology and Mantras, Yantras and Fabulous Gems - healing secrets of the ancient Vedas. He is president and founder of the Vedic Cultural Fellowship in New Mexico and founding member of the American Council of Vedic Astrology.
