The Yogas: A Journey into the World of Vedic Astrology पेपरबैक
Description
The yogas are an enigmatic aspect of Jyotiá¹£a. Yoga means joining or adding. It is formed when two Grahas join in a RÄÅ›i or have Paraspara Dṛṣá¹i. The presence of Yogas in Jyotiá¹£a makes it different from western astrology. Even though the results of a BhÄva can be deciphered from the presence or dṛṣá¹i of Grahas, the placement of the Bhava lords in RÄÅ›i or Naká¹£atras, sometimes they are added with an extra dimension by Yoga.
There are several classes of yogas, such as Candra Yogas, SÅ«rya Yoga, NÄbhasa Yogas, ViÅ›eÅ›a Yogas, RÄjayogas, Dhanayogas, PravrÄjya yogas, DvigrahÄdi yogas etc. Each of them has special significance. The Candra yogas, SunaphÄ, AnaphÄ and DurdharÄ, are important for wealth and sustenance. The SÅ«rya Yogas are important for honour and success in life. NÄbhasa yogas shape one’s life in a certain direction, and their effects are experienced throughout life.
Yogas such as Amala, Parvata, KÄhala, CÄmara, Åšaá¹…kha, Bheri, Má¹›danga etc. significantly alter the quality of a Kuṇá¸alÄ«. The presence of one or more such yogas enhances certain aspects of a Kuṇá¸alÄ« that is beyond the effects placement of dṛṣá¹i of Grahas, Lords etc. They need to be examined carefully. Besides, there are adverse yogas such as RÄjabhaá¹…ga, RekÄ and Preá¹£ya yogas that make one poor and dependent on others for their subsistence. This book treats the subject of Yogas exhaustively.
