The Sun-god has been described in the scriptures as the Pratyaksha-devataa, the manifest God. Surya has been likened to lord Vishnu, the God Eternal. The book concludes with the fifth section containing one of the most effective hymns to propitiate the Sun-god, known as the Aaditya-Hridaya Stotram, taken from the Vaalmiki Raamaayana.
