Description

what is Muhurt?

It is a general practice in India to start any auspicious work during good Muhurt . We are quite particular about it. In traditional Muhurt there are five main pillars (points to be considered) :

1) Tithi (Hindu Date)

2) Vaar ( Day)

3) Nakshatra (Constellation)

4) Yoga,

5) Karana.

On a special day and time when the above five pillars are favourable for the work undertaken, we make a start . In addition to these five pillars we also check out for Lagna, Moon, Sun and Jup, etc

We start certain work only during some special tithi, and for some other work We never select certain Nakshatras.

for example, traditionally Pushya Nakshatra is considered very auspicious to start any work but it is never considered for marriage purposes, the reason being Lord Rama was married on Pushya Nakshatra day and he never had a peaceful married life. at the time of his Rajyabhishek, he was sent to exile for 14 years with his wife . Even at the time of birth of his sons, his wife suffered a lot. When it was time to enjoy life with his wife (after becoming the king ) his wife had to undergo Agni-Pariksha.
